Erecting Barriers to... Pretty Much Everything

How many fences
do you need?

Backyard
fortified with stockade

and balkanized
by chain link,

nary a gate.
Who or what

are you keeping out
or keeping in?

For Just One Word in the Garden: HALVED

  2. Are there any fences thick or tall enough to comfort a fearful mind? Will they find fault in the mininscule pores of concrete for being too permeable?

  3. You describe halved without using the word! Nice.

  7. This is the first place we've lived in 42 years that is fenced. Every lot is fenced by a board fence built by the developer. Mainly a privacy fence, it does help keep small children away from pools.
Thanks for the neat prompt. I'm not real pleased with my write and I'm not pushing it. Thank you too for reading, a teacher would give me a bad grade, mostly for being mundane.

  8. We surround ourselves with fences, and yet are we their prisoner?

  9. We have more questions than answers here. Who on earth is the imprisoned, then ? I love this!
