For Now

Clouds
drape the mountain
like a blanket
comforting
us valley dwellers
who peek
with one eye open
as from under covers
relatively safe
from the incredulities
to come tomorrow

Music prompt in the Imaginary Garden: MADE FOR NOW

  1. Once we looked forward to tomorrow but how things change across the world. We aren't fit to be on this planet for so many reasons.

  2. Yes. Marian, there is a sun up there somewhere, keep on peeking. Reminds me of the yellow smog cloud that, before EPA, ran most every day from the mountain foothills to way down into the valley. Refineries.
BTW, I brought my verse inside, to a skating rink instead of an outside pond. Better atmosphere for warmth. Thank you.

  3. These days, it seems that no blanket can offer enough protection. But... maybe we can make the incredulities less atrocious, so that the blankets won't have to be so big (or even necessary).
