Hard(l-)y Out(side)

Feint
back
before
         losing hope
entirely
         as with
mourning blue buries
                betrayals
mount until too heavy to hold
           & limbs start breaking

  1. Hey Marian--your enjambment and word play are so effective here--each read shows a different layer/angle, each of which is illuminating--I love the last three lines particularly--(though not so into betrayals!) Thanks and thanks for kind comments. I've enjoyed reading your work very much and am glad to be back in the swing a bit. K.

  10. I too loved the different readings possible – though all adding up to the same sad conclusion.
