If Birds Could Talk

Coffee
at the kitchen window
considering
writing lines about
a circus of sparrows
companionably chippering
up the rose hedge
peeking in my kitchen window
as if to say
what’s all the yammering about
in there

#9 for Hannah’s prompt in the Imaginary Garden. April! Ack!

  2. This is delightful. I can SEE them. Here, we have hummingbirds at all the windows, clamouring at the feeders. They go bananas at dusk.

  4. I think we should be happy that we cannot understand their quarellous song.

  5. Excellent glimpse at the writing process, and what inspires it.

  6. Birds of a feather sing together. Both sides yammering, wondering what the other is up to. It's like a reflection in a still pond.
