Giving It All Away

Talk about
empyreal influences
interstellar traveller
aging voyager

Who are we
questioning
interplanetary authority
as the starry matter
burns

Turns out our heroes
are not immortal after all
the rains keep coming
strumming so

  3. I think it's an amazement that we're even here at all. I had to look up empyreal and can't help thinking it is a quantum physics word expressing the duality of empty and real, like matter, which is mostly empty space.

  5. "nothing in his life
Became him like the leaving it; he died
As one that had been studied in his death"

What a giant among men, until his dying day.

  6. The stars look different today... I have never seen anyone passing like that... and I had played black star the whole weekend... He even made his death a piece of art.

  9. Like you say, we miss him but the rain keeps on coming.
It still rains on the just and the unjust even when we aren't.

  10. Who are we, indeed. Who was he. All voyagers, eventually gone while the rain keep strumming. Bowie's a cypher to me, so many perfections in him and yet somehow meaningless. All art. Travel on.

  12. You express the surprise and kind of shock we all feel when an icon turns out to be flesh. Thanks, Marian. k.
