Vibration

Every day,
the incessant beating
against eggshell membrane,
   pulled up taut,
freed, loosed, tightened again
   with earthy Resonance,
occasional crash punctuation,
the Heart hammers to out
from its trap.

  1. Ah.. coming directly from your stone-angel poem.. this can clearly connect --- the beating heart inside that angel...hmm

  2. To get out? I never thought of that! If that is the vibration that drives my Being, much is explained!

  8. Ah, the fragility and power of a heart. I can see it beating...

  11. Great metaphor of life needing to exceed itself, defy boundary, be freed -- even if such hammering is fatal. We live in an age of anxiety, panic attacks, COPD, arrhythmia, occlusion and infarction: My younger brother died suddenly of a heart attack at age 44, and the specter of that hangs over the rest of the sibilings -- But the truth is that that little fist of an organ thrives by almost successfully escaping its cage. Almost. Loved this little thing.

  12. Very nicely written thoughts, Marian. But if they only knew what was out there they may sometimes wished they'd have stayed. I do, every now and then. Like they say, "you can't go back." ;)
