Infant Openings

Open arms. Open up!
Little airplane will fly
right in! Open sky.
Open heart,
tiny vessel, already broken:
filling a slot
open for infants.

Sam Edge has the Real Toads playing with language in the style of e.e. cummings. Not that this tiny poem fits that tall order, but here it is.

  1. So charming and full of love and truth, Marian--so clever to use the idea of feeding for this bigger notion of nurturing (and other things.) It's really well done. K.

  2. This invites an amazingly imaginative journey.. tiny planes flying through arteries searching out the heart.
