Shawl

There’s not enough still
to steady the tremor
in my hands
when I pray;
there’s not enough quiet
to drown out the voice
in my head
so I can hear your verse
on the wind.

  1. Your response to this video clip is so unexpected, yet apt. I wish I could find that stillness, a place inside where I can just be.

  2. Marian - so beautifully expressed, this desperation to attain peace. One might read this poem as sad, but there is something in it that makes me believe the writer will achieve what she seeks. :)

    1. …and THANK YOU for playing late!! I truly realize many of our "garden" prompts are often a very "short" time frame. Mine are always open.

      yeah, it's hard sometimes to respond right away, even when moved by a prompt. life interrupts!
