Consorting With A Snake

You turned out to be
just an ordinary snake,
despite your colossal length
& preenful styling.
You took care of any rats
who had the nerve to come calling,
never brought brothers around
expecting me to entertain them.
Once I figured out
you had no plans to poison me,
I rather liked having you around.

Best line for a greeting card EVER! Well played my dear...you make me want to write better poems. This one shines. Oh and happy to see the comment feature back on.....:)

  4. Ah, the sinuous serpent, a horror of many but also quite useful. Why do I feel that this snake may have two legs and perhaps even some facial hair? Loved it, Marian.

  5. Cool. Got to approach these cautiously, but then let them be the steward of it all.

  7. Good job ... I actually found that I could not do this. I have nothing kind or loving or positive to say about hornets and wasps.

  11. Serpents and snakes, no matter the form they take, even if non-poisonous, best be wary! Their bite can still sting!! Unless one has the "charm" to sooth such savage beast! Well captured!
