got me by the guts

Accident left you
with 3 point 5 digits
but no incapacity
for intentionally
reaching inside,
extracting my heart,
and penetrating my brain.

  1. Whoosh! I thought this painting could invite some amazing verbal responses, and I'm blown away by yours. The womb and heart and brain of womanhood can so easily be trifled with, if we don't guard them carefully.

  6. Really like the direction this took--very in sync with your blog title, as the poem seemed to quickly become a runaway with its word-hooves leaving disingenuous-ness in the dust. Everything in this works, Marian.
